Shopify B2B Agency for Retailers and Manufacturers
B2B customers buy differently. They need custom pricing, approval workflows, quotes, payment by invoice, and a customer portal containing all their documents. We build B2B stores on Shopify that deliver exactly that—on Shopify Plus or, thanks to a headless setup, even on the standard plans.

What Shopify B2B Can Do Today
Shopify has significantly expanded its B2B capabilities in recent years. Company accounts with multiple locations, customer-specific price lists, payment terms, minimum order quantities, and a dedicated B2B checkout are now standard. Many of these features are no longer exclusive to Shopify Plus. We explain exactly what this means in Shopify B2B features now available without Plus.
The limitations become apparent as soon as processes beyond pricing come into play. The standard solution cannot handle quotes requiring approval, serial numbers, single sign-on using corporate credentials, or SAP integration. That is precisely where we come in.
Typical B2B requirements we implement
- Customer groups and individual pricing. Every logged-in customer immediately sees their price on the product page, based on customer groups or price lists.
- Prices are only available to verified customers. Certain products only display their price after you log in.
- Quotes and approvals. Customers put together a shopping cart as a request for a quote. Your sales team processes it as a draft order and sends a payment request.
- Purchase orders and payment by invoice, including in multiple currencies.
- Serial numbers. Required when purchasing or used as the basis for discounts on accessories.
- Single Sign-On using the existing company login, for example via Keycloak or Active Directory.
- A customer portal for dealers with invoices, credit notes, and delivery status.
- ERP integration for products, inventory, orders, and invoices, such as SAP ByD or Business Central.
- B2B and B2C from a single product catalog. Maintain it once, then publish it to each channel with its own pricing.
Real-World B2B Projects
Porsche eBike Performance, B2B and B2C from a single middleware platform
FAZUA develops e-bike drive systems and has been part of Porsche eBike Performance GmbH since 2022. We brought dealers and end customers together on a single platform. Our middleware synchronizes products, inventory, orders, and deliveries bidirectionally with SAP ByD. Invoices and credit notes from SAP appear directly in the customer account. Thanks to the headless setup, customer groups with their own pricing and serial-number-based discounts run on the Grow plan—without Shopify Plus. The project, including SAP integration, middleware, and the headless store, took six months. View case study
Bruker, global B2B shop for research and industry
Bruker sells accessories for scientific instruments to businesses, universities, and hospitals. Orders there often go through approval processes. To support this, we built a Quote Cart that allows customers to create quotes as draft orders, along with purchase orders and payment by invoice in multiple currencies via a custom split checkout. Login is handled through Keycloak single sign-on, and some prices are only visible to verified customers. View case study
DaCapo Travel, inquiries from travel agencies without the app
Travel agencies don’t book group trips with a click—they submit an inquiry and negotiate. We built the entire process directly into Shopify. An inquiry creates a draft order, the sales team adjusts line items, discounts, and net amounts, then sends the payment request. The customer pays the deposit through Shopify Checkout. It all works without Shopify Plus, without an additional app, and without a workaround. View case study
Moments Tirol also Moments Tirol operates its own B2B shop with net prices, using the same product catalog as the B2C shop.
Do I need Shopify Plus for B2B?
Not necessarily. Shopify’s native B2B features are now also available on the standard plans, albeit with some limitations. With a headless frontend and our middleware, many typical Plus features can also be implemented on the Grow plan, as demonstrated by the Porsche eBike project.
Shopify Plus is particularly worthwhile for B2B businesses with high revenue, multiple markets, custom checkout requirements, or a need to manage several stores from a single organization. During the initial consultation, we'll work out which option is more cost-effective for you.
How a B2B project works
- Process assessment. We examine how your customers currently place orders—by email, phone, through field sales, or via EDI—and what approval processes are in place.
- System landscape. We clarify which data comes from the ERP, PIM, and CRM systems and where orders are sent back.
- Concept and design. The customer portal, quick ordering, quotation process, and price display are developed as a prototype in Figma.
- Implementation and integration. The shop, middleware, and interfaces are developed in parallel and tested with real customer data.
- Rollout. We often start with a pilot group of merchants before migrating all customers.
Frequently Asked Questions About Shopify B2B
Can I run B2B and B2C in the same store? Yes. Shopify separates B2B customers using company accounts and price lists. If the product ranges or designs differ significantly, a second store with a shared product catalog is often a cleaner solution, as with Moments Tirol.
How do I get my ERP prices into Shopify? Through an integration that synchronizes price lists and customer groups from the ERP. We use our Hydropop middleware for this or build directly on the Shopify APIs.
Can retailers place orders using quick order forms or CSV files? Yes. We can implement quick order forms, reordering from previous orders, and CSV uploads as needed.
Are there minimum order values? Yes, Shopify supports minimum and maximum order values at checkout. What larger stores should keep in mind is explained in Shopify minimum order values at checkout.
